The Edinburgh Gin Distillery tours are very popular.  “Learn about the history of gin, taking in Edinburgh’s distilling past in our exhibition area, then experience up close in our still room how we make it today using our two working copper stills.  You’ll have a chance to discover the botanicals used in our recipes, finishing with a tasting of a classic Edinburgh G&T, or for those who prefer, a miniature to take home.  The tour price includes a 10% discount on purchases from our on-site gift shop.  Please note: There is a 2-3 month wait for weekend spaces due to high demand, so advance booking is essential. All availability is show non the online booking system.  If you’ve got a paper voucher from our old website, don’t worry, they can still be redeemed for this tour.”

Pickering’s Gin do a ‘Gin Jolly’, a gin tasting tour. “We make Pickering’s Gin in the distillery we built ourselves, from scratch, in the heart of Edinburgh.   When we opened Summerhall Distillery, it was the first exclusive gin distillery to be established in Edinburgh for over 150 years.   Our gin is based on an original 1947 recipe. It features nine Bombay botanicals, engineered by us to create Pickering’s famous full-bodied flavour with perfect bitter-sweet balance.”

One Square do a Gin Tasting Experience.  “Led by our Gin Expert, you’ll learn about the processes involved in gin distillation and have the chance to indulge your senses as you get to know the botanicals and junipers that make gin so distinctive.  Best of all though, you’ll be invited to batch your very own miniature One Square Gin from a barrel, complete with a wax seal that you can take home.  4 gins specially selected by our gin experts paired with recommended tonic.  A full demonstration throughout the experience showing how gin comes to life.  Wax and seal your own bottle of One Square gin to take away with you.

Heads and Tales Gin Bar – Gin Masterclass

Heads and Tales Gin Bar run a Gin Masterclass.  From the day of “Mothers Ruin” to gins hot off the still, take an exploration through the world of gin and sample exciting tipples with complimenting garnishes. Our professional team will talk you through each of the steps within the hour teaching you all there is to know!  The class includes 4 gin samples paired with tonics and garnishes. Once your journey has come to an end, you will receive a tasty gin and tonic of your choice.  Available for groups up to twelve people at 5pm, 6pm & 7pm, Tues – Sun.


Revolution Bar – Gin Academy
